Report of Regular Activities

In 2020-21, NSS Unit of our College has successfully participated/conducted various activities in diverse fields:
- Video Making on Awareness of COVID 19: The NSS unit of our College had organised Video Making Activity on the awareness of COVID 19 and contribution of COVID 19 warriors. Date – 2nd May 2020. Total 23 volunteers actively participated in the same.

Outcome – Awareness on the COVID appropriate behavior and contribution of COVID 19 warriors
- Online Feedback of NSS Volunteers: From 12th to 17th June 2020, NSS Unit of -our College organized Online Feedback of NSS Volunteers and their Parents with respect to the outcome of being an NSS Volunteer and attending NSS Special Camp. Total 26 volunteers actively participated in the same.
Outcome – Self-evaluation and Self-analysis with respect to understanding the benefits of joining NSS.
- Online Workshop on Yoga: From 15th June to 21st June 2020, the NSS Cell, University of Mumbai, HSNC Board, HSNC University, Mumbai and Kaivalyadhama had organized 07 days of Yoga Training program. Total 05 volunteers from our college attended the program.

- One Day National Webinar: On 2nd July 2020, The NSS unit of our College had organised One Day National Webinar on – ‘MSME Funds: A Tool for Women Empowerment.’ Both NSS and Non-NSS studenfts enthusiastically participated in the same.

- Prerana: From 11th to 15th July, 2020, The NSS Cell of Shivaji University, Kolhapur and UNICEF had organized the Online Motivation State Level Leadership Development Training Camp.

account of Gandhi Jayanti. Number of volunteers participated: 16. Manish Patwa of S. Y. B. Com. Division C got 3rd Prize in Essay Writing Competition (English). Shilpa Chaurasiya of S. Y. B. Com. Division B got 3rd Prize in Essay Writing Competition (Hindi). Archana Yadav of S. Y. B. Com. Division B got 3rd Prize in Poem Writing Competition.

- Taare Zameen Par: On 10th October 2020, The NSS Unit of K. P. B. Hinduja College of Commerce had organised a Webinar - Taare Zameen Par 'Not disabled just differently abled' (In Collaboration with Urmi Foundation). - Sexual Harassment of Children: On 10th October 2020, The GLC NSS Unit in collaboration with Public Concern for Governance Trust had organised a Webinar on the topic ‘Sexual Harassment of Children’. Speaker Ms. Sonali Shelar (Human Rights Lawyer) highlighted upon the POCSO Act and created awareness amongst the virtual audience. Number of volunteers participated: 16 Female: 10 Male: 06

- World Mental Health Day: - On 11th October 2020, The NSS Unit of Bunts Sangha's S. M. Shetty College of Science, Commerce and Management studies had organised a Webinar on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. Speaker Mr. Nitesh Shetty (Famous Comedian) had inspired the participants by emphasizing upon the importance of good health and gave tips to maintain good health. Total 16 Volunteers of our college had participated actively in this webinar.

- Global Hand Washing Day: On 13th October 2020, on the occasion of Global Hand Washing Day 2020, a State Level online orientation programme was jointly organised by UNICEF, National Service Scheme (NSS) Higher and Technical Education Department, GOM, Rotary Club, Western India Football Association and Centre for Youth Development. The program was inaugurated by Hon. Uday Samant Sir who created awareness about the importance of washing hands to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and therefore the key to good health. Total 14 Volunteers of our college had participated in this activity.

- 'Heart Attacks, the Hidden Epidemic - How to handle them': On 13th October 2020, VCAN in collaboration with NSS Unit of Jai Hind College had organised a Webinar on 'Heart Attacks, the Hidden Epidemic - How to handle them'. Speaker Dr. Dev B. Pahlajani had given information about Heart, Heart Attack & how to keep a balanced diet to keep our heart healthy & how we will recover the heart attack patients. - 'Awareness Session on Anti-Human Trafficking': On 14th October 2020, NSS Unit (B-18) of Valia College of Commerce in the collaboration with The Movement India had organised 'Awareness Session on Anti-Human Trafficking'. Speaker Ms. Aneesha Reuben had given important information about Human Trafficking. Speaker Mr. Sam Koshy- Director of The Movement India had explained through a video some cases like that of 26 minor girls being rescued in a local train .Total 09 Volunteers from our college had participated in this webinar. - 'Yuva Jagran': On 14th October 2020, The NSS Unit of SMT. Mithibai Motiram Kundnani College of Commerce and Economics had organised a programme on ‘Yuva Jagran’. Speaker Dr. Umesh Mundley had spoken on Water Conservation- Jal Vyavasthapan and gave a tagline 'Water is life, Treat it right’. - 'NSS activity after Corona Pandemic': On 22nd October 2020, The NSS Unit B- 26 of Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce and Economics had organized a Webinar on ‘NSS activity after Corona Pandemic’. Mr. Sushil Shinde, District Coordinator, Mumbai Western Suburb, University of Mumbai had spoken about the activities that can be conducted in future & about new plans or ways to present the activities. Total 07 Volunteers had participated in the activity.

- Career Options after Graduation - MBA: On 22nd October 2020, H. R. College in association with T.I.M.E. had organised a Webinar on Career Options after Graduation - MBA. Speaker Gurudeep Sir had given information about the career options after graduation. He had briefly explained to the volunteers about MBA & suggested some top MBA institutes & schools. Total 05 Volunteers of our college had attended this webinar actively.

- Interactive Session on Mahatma Gandhi: On 24th October 2020, The Literati Club of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies had organised an interactive session with Shri Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. Speaker Shri Tushar Gandhi gave a lot of information about Mahatma Gandhi's Ethics for Mass Media & Mass Movement. Total 05 Volunteers of our Female: 04 Male: 01 college had participated in this session.

- National Food Day:- On 24th October 2020, The NSS Unit of Bunts Sangha's
- M. Shetty College of Science Commerce and Management Studies in collaboration with the Health Club has organised Healthy 2020 Mission, an intercollegiate webinar on Diet fitness which leads to a healthy lifestyle on the occasion of National Food Day. The speaker for the said Webinar was Dr. Sharayu Rajwade who highlighted on the fitness measures. Total 08 Volunteers of our college participated in this activity

- 'Brain Attack or Stroke - A Ticking Time Bomb': On 28th October 2020, VCAN in collaboration with NSS Unit of Jai Hind College had organised a webinar on ‘Brain Attack or Stroke- A Ticking Time Bomb’. Speaker Dr. Anil Karapurkar had given information and knowledge about brain attack and brain stroke, types of
strokes and briefly explained the difference between heart attack and stroke. Total 11 Volunteers of our college had participated in the webinar.
